Keeping Hold of Habits

Keep hold of your habits.

Humans are creatures of habit, a lot of what we do long term and regularly becomes pretty automatic...

Habitual, is what some might say.

Remember the first time you got up at 5am for the gym...

Bit of a chore after the first 3 days and the novelty wears off isn’t it?

What about the first time you started tracking?.. A bit pain in the arse…

Especially once you realise you’re not able to fit in that doughnut?

Bet both eventually just became the norm and something you did without thinking about.

Well... Keep hold of them habits, nurture them however you can and whatever you do don't lose them, even through time out of the gym or off work.

Continue to go to bed at your regular time, get up at your regular time, have your coffee, get showered and do whatever you usually do...

Don't even put off that usual morning shit to watch Everybody Loves Raymond.

If you train at a regular time, thats the time you should be training at home or finding some other activity to fill the gap.

Things might change temporarily, but keeping routine will make the transition back to normality a lot quicker, easier and less painful…

Me? I’m still getting up at 5am even though the gyms are shut to make the transition back to getting up at 5am and starting work at 6am easier and less painful.

It can also help with the mental health side of things too.

I’m no lifestyle coach, but if you’re struggling to get you training in order after change or just don’t have the mental space to program yourself…
